DELL CASE STUDY SHINES LIGHT ON TRIDENT’S DATA PROTECTION
Personal computing giant Dell used Trident’s recent implementation of Dell Data Protection | Encryption as a case study to illustrate the importance of protecting data and how a solution such as this can benefit an organization. As a 100% online university, Trident’s security and encryption of highly sensitive data is a top priority – amplified by the fact that many staff and faculty are located outside of the university’s Cypress, CA headquarters. The project, led by Senior Systems Engineer Mike Siegel, is discussed at length here.
TRIDENT DEBUTS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WEBINARS
In an effort to best serve the needs of their diverse and growing community, Trident has begun to produce and broadcast webinars focused on academic, career development, and professional growth. The corporate webinars, developed through a coordinated effort by Trident’s College of Business Administration, Marketing department, and Outreach & Partnerships team, are designed to provide current and relevant learning solutions for Trident’s corporate partners. Since their debut in late spring, Trident has broadcast webinars for multiple corporate partners. Webinars from the Career Advising & Development Center will follow in August with a webinar on military-to-civilian skills building called “Do You Speak Civilian?”
STUDENT VIDEOS HONORED AS PART OF 35TH ANNUAL TELLY AWARDS
As part of the 35th Annual Telly Awards, Trident was a recipient of a Bronze Award to acknowledge the video work done on Ph.D. graduate testimonials. Filmed in conjunction with media production company 1545 Media, these videos showcased the achievements and experiences of select graduates from 2013. The Telly Awards honor the best and brightest in film, video, and online video, as well as notable work in local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs.
TRIDENT RELEASES SMARTPHONE APP
July saw Trident introduce its first smartphone app, which is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Created in-house by members of Trident’s Information Technology department, this app is designed to facilitate student access to news, important academic dates, and phone numbers for admissions, finance, and general questions. The app also provides a streamlined gateway to the responsive design Trident Learning Community (TLC) allowing students quick access to their personal courses and student services. Version 2.0 is already under development.
MBA GRAD SINGS NATIONAL ANTHEM AT TRIDENT COMMENCEMENT
George Ingram III (Master’s in Business Administration, ’14) was tapped to perform the National Anthem at Trident’s 2014 Graduation Ceremony on July 26th in Long Beach, CA. Trident’s Graduation Committee selected him from a pool of talented individuals – all of whom will be 2014 grads – to represent his class and his university on this special day. Ingram has a diverse performance background in concert, opera, music theatre, theatre, and film. He has performed as a soloist at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, and concert halls in the U.S., Germany, France, Austria, and Switzerland.
