Tripps Travel Network Offers List of August’s Best Fun Runs in the U.S.
Las Vegas (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- Physical health is a big topic these days and many people are trying to find new and exciting ways to stay fit – even while they are on vacation. However, it can be hard to motivate one’s self to get in the gym while visiting a beautiful destination.
In an effort to help people combine exercise, fun and travel, Tripps Travel Network has put together a list of three great runs in which to participate this August. These runs vary in length and difficulty, but the goal of all three is for participants to stay fit, have fun and even donate to an excellent cause.
5KRunDead Zombie Run: For those people who need a little more incentive to run, the 5KRunDead Zombie Run is sure to get them moving. Better yet, 100% of proceeds from the run will benefit scientific research on cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Tripps Travel Network says runners will be chased by zombies through a 5K course, testing their speed, endurance and strength while trying not to be “eaten.” Each runner will have flags on their person that represents “health”; that’s what the volunteer zombies are trying to steal. Runners must make it to the finish line with at least one flag or they, too, become a zombie. The event is nationwide throughout the year, but on Aug. 15 travelers can catch up the zombie run in Rosemount, Minn.
Beat Beethoven’s 5K Run/Walk: On Aug. 23 runners visiting Bend, Ore., can test their skills against Beethoven – his 5th Symphony to be more specific. Beat Beethoven’s 5th 5K Run/Walk challenges runners to finish before Beethoven’s famous 5th Symphony does; the piece is approximately 33 minutes. The race course is mostly flat and paved, and as it’s a fun run, families are welcome to participate together. According to Tripps Travel Network, there will even be a photo opportunity with Beethoven himself. Participants will be supporting the Central Oregon Symphony.
Insane Inflatable 5K: Travelers looking to mix some more obstacles into their race should head to Grand Rapids, Mich., on Aug. 15 or 16 for the Insane Inflatable 5K. Even organizers say that their goal is more about fun and charity than who finishes first. That means the event is not timed, the more to encourage a variety of people to participate. The course features – as the name suggests – inflatable obstacles that participants must climb up, slide down and maneuver through. The Grand Rapids event will benefit Shields of Hope, which provides assistance to people affected by cancer.
