TROY’s on-demand ultraviolet (UV) technology provides a SecureUV feature either invisible or within black text and graphics. TROY SecureUV Ink builds an invisible layer of covert security into each document, only visible when illuminated with a UV light. SecureUV Ink can produce text and graphics, and prints simultaneously with the black, cyan and magenta ink cartridges allowing for single-pass color printing. This capability provides a useful means to embed security elements within a visible color graphic or even as an invisible graphic within a document.
The 556 also prints with TROY’s Standard UV Ink which is designed for security documents at risk for alteration or counterfeiting. Standard UV ink is part of the black (K) cartridge, visible as black text or graphics under normal light and highlighted when viewed under a UV light source. When document elements are printed using this TROY ink, they become a security feature unique to the document.
