TruBlue Flourishes as a Family Owned, Operated Business
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) September 07, 2016 -- When Brian and Rebecca Rowland were looking for a franchise, they knew they wanted something that played to their strengths while allowing them to work together to build a secure future for their family. When they came across TruBlue, they saw an opportunity.
“The business plan TruBlue has put together is a great fit for families and couples because it gives you the flexibility to decide what you each do best and then work as a team to serve clients and grow the company,” Brian said. “With TruBlue, we are able to set a schedule that suits our blended family and work together in a way that has a direct, positive impact on our clients.”
With the addition of the Rowlands to the TruBlue franchise family, more than half of TruBlue Total House Care’s active franchisees are families and couples working together.
TruBlue specializes in providing handyman services, maid and cleaning services, lawn care, emergency repairs, seasonal projects, a senior accessibility program and more. TruBlue also partners with home owners and realtors to get homes ready to sell, prepare new homes for move in and complete home inspection punch lists.
TruBlue also recently announced the addition of a new Home Watch program, which is designed to give people peace of mind when they’re traveling, out of town for the season or just away from home. With Home Watch, a TruBlue technician will do a security check-in, will bring in any newspapers or mail left out, adjust window shades and lights, check for any plumbing leaks or problems, flush toilets and run faucets, make sure pool maintenance has been consistent and thorough, and even run vehicle engines.
“Building a business can be a lot of work – and we are really hands on with the physical work that has to be done – but being able to do all of that together as a team is really something special,” Rebecca said. “We frequently have clients who are curious how we work together so closely, but honestly, for us, it’s perfect.”
While Brian and Rebecca are building TruBlue of Virginia Beach, the Lancour family has been busy doing the same in Fort Myers since 2013. David and Susan Lancour own TruBlue of Southwest Florida and their son DJ and daughter-in-law Megan are involved in the day-to-day operations. David and DJ handle the handyman and carpentry side of the business, Susan works with the incoming calls and Home Watch clients, and Megan is the lead maid. The third generation is also starting to get involved as the business grows.
“When we bought our TruBlue franchise, we were looking for a company that was still building and willing to allow us to help ‘flavor’ its identity with our talents. We also wanted something that played to all our strengths and gave us the ability to work together,” David said. “It’s a lot of work to build a business from scratch and the time and effort you put into your business will be the benchmark by which you can measure your success, but doing it together is something special.”
TruBlue President Greg Platz said the flexibility of the TruBlue system and the support of the corporate team is part of what makes the company a great fit for a wide variety of franchisees – including families and couples.
“From the customizable nature of our services and revenue streams to the flexibility our owners have, TruBlue Total House Care is a great opportunity for a family that’s looking to get into the home or property care industry. If you’re ready to hit the ground running by offering our full suite of property maintenance services or you want to start smaller by focusing on maid services or handyman repairs, we’ll work together to help you and your family build the kind of business you’re proud to put your name behind,” Platz said.
For the Lancours, TruBlue is about having a business that allows them to spend time as a family while securing a future in the Fort Myers community.
“Building our TruBlue business has been a shared experience for our family – we share in the triumphs and are there for each other when things don’t go so well. We all get to watch the business grow and get a feel for what works and what doesn’t work. Plus now that we’re seeing the next generation get involved, it’s especially rewarding,” Susan said.
TruBlue Total House Care, which was founded in 2011 in Cincinnati, was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the 15th fastest growing franchise in the nation.
