TSE Industries Receives JEC Americas 2013 Innovation Award; Finalist for 2013 Polyurethanes Innovation Award
Clearwater, Florida (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- TSE Industries, Inc. of Clearwater, Florida, was just awarded the JEC Americas 2013 Innovation Award in the “Green Solutions” category for its “Environmentally friendly, cost effective, high performance polyurethane resin system for filament winding applications,” known as TSE-EcoWind®. TSE-EcoWind resin system is also a Finalist for the 2013 Polyurethanes Innovation Award from the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry, American Chemistry Council, to be awarded in September, 2013. TSE-EcoWind was recently selected as a Finalist for the Innovation Award at JEC Europe 2013 held in Paris in March, 2013, the largest Composites trade show in the World.
TSE-EcoWind® resins are used to reinforce thermoplastic substrates (i.e. polyethylene, ABS, etc.) or applied directly to release-coated mandrel surfaces. Burst strength is dramatically improved when using TSE-EcoWind. The products it produces are extremely resilient, long-lasting, and often surpass the specifications of existing resin technologies, such as epoxy and styrene esters. TSE-EcoWind is extremely cost-effective. When applied with TSE’s patented resin applicator, TSE-EcoWind virtually eliminates waste, below 1% of product applied.
TSE-EcoWind® resins are an environmentally preferable alternative to existing resin solutions like epoxy and styrene esters. Unlike epoxy resin systems which are composed the potentially toxic chemical BPA, and styrene esters which contain at least 40% styrene, a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) that easily evaporates into the air, polyurethane does not contain BPA or VOC’s. TSE-EcoWind resins are 100% solids and are BPA and VOC-Free, with ultra-low emissions. They’re free of toxins and safe for the fiberglass worker, end-user and the environment.
“I’m very proud of our entire Composites Team,” said Rick Klingel, President of TSE Industries. “TSE is honored to receive this prestigious award. This worldwide recognition confirms our belief that our TSE-EcoWind polyurethane resin system is truly revolutionary.”
TSE’s innovative filament winding system was developed in-house by TSE’s Composites Team headed up by Mark D’Souza, CASE Composites R&D Manager. Mark has been involved in Fiberglass Reinforced Composites and Advanced Composites for the last 17 years developing innovative products.
Created in 1998, the JEC Innovation Awards Program is a worldwide competition that identifies, promotes, and rewards the most innovative composite solutions worldwide that create more value for end users. The selection criteria for the JEC Innovation Awards are technical excellence, market potential and originality.
