TTi Global President/CEO Lori Blaker Promotes Equality through Community Initiatives and Advocacy
Rochester Hills, MI (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- In a recently released video, Lori Blaker discusses the sixth of the WEP principles while speaking to a group of students at Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. The Women’s Empowerment Principles is a joint initiative between the UN Global Compact and UN Women.
When asked if TTi Global has worked in partnership to advocate for gender equality and has collaborated with others to promote inclusion, Blaker responded, “Recently I signed the “CEO Statement of Support” for United Nation’s Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP). By doing this we have officially joined forces with companies around the world in the promotion of women’s equality and women’s rights everywhere. TTi Global also is a certified woman-owned business through the WBENC, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the primary women-owned business certification agency in the USA.”
Blaker noted that TTi Global participates in a number of organizations that actively promoted the advancement of women including the Women of Tomorrow program that provides mentoring to young-at –risk women. Blaker explained, “You can’t ignore the power of a group, who are working to generate support in the business community. Just providing exposure to women and women’s issues to many of these individuals is eye opening for them. They hear stories of inequality from around the world, but to actually talk to somebody who has been there, seen it, is a powerful means to help generate support to our efforts.”
Blaker is actively involved with numerous educational and mentoring organizations including: Cornerstone Schools, Eaton Academy, Women of Tomorrow, Peace for Business and others. She encourages other business leaders to use the seven Women’s Empowerment Principles as guide posts for actions that advance and empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community.
President and CEO, Lori Blaker heads of one of the fastest growing women-led organizations in North America. Her leadership skills continue to be recognized by the business community. In 2012 President/CEO Lori Blaker received the “Leader of Leaders” Award from Leadership Oakland. Under her leadership, TTi Global has ranked consistently among the "Top 25 Woman-Run Businesses in the USA" as recognized by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.
