Turner Machine Hosts Annual Cook Out For Employees
SMYRNA, Tenn., (PRWEB) June 12, 2015 -- Turner Machine Company, a custom machine builder and machine shop, will host its annual employee cook out on Saturday, June 13 as part of its growing company culture initiative.
The cook out will take place at Henry Horton State Park. For lunch, employees will be treated to grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Then, for entertainment, Turner Machine colleagues will go head-to-head in skeet shooting and bubble soccer, where players are ensconced in a giant bubble with only their legs exposed.
“One of the core values at Turner Machine is passion to build people,” said Jeff Turner, CEO of Turner Machine. “Part of building up our employees is ensuring they know they are appreciated and our annual cook-off is just one of our company culture initiatives that allows us to do just that.”
Other culture initiatives include:
• Yearly gift cards on employment anniversaries
• Cash bonuses as end-of-the-year holiday gift
• A crystal award trophy and a bonus check on five-year anniversary
• An all-expenses paid cruise on ten-year anniversary
• Free life insurance
Another employee perk includes the ability to use the company hot rod truck for a weekend during the summer.
While company culture was a foreign concept when Turner entered the workforce, he quickly realized the demand for it when an influx of Millennials began seeking employment. Recognizing their desire to gain more than just a paycheck, Turner began implementing several company culture initiatives to provide a more satisfying work experience for his employees.
After years of hard work and dedication, Turner believes his efforts to grow a healthy company culture are working. In a recent survey, managed by Quantum Workplace, the leading national authority on employee engagement, Turner Machine found that 93 percent of its employees are satisfied with their jobs, which is 19 percent higher than the average satisfaction rate of the manufacturing companies surveyed.
