Tutors International Publishes Advice on the Costs and Benefits of Home Schooling
(PRWEB UK) 27 November 2014 -- Independent Education Consultant, Adam Caller, who has more than 20 years’ experience of teaching in private schools and as a private tutor, has today published[1] his views on the costs and benefits of home schooling. Written as an aid for parents trying to weigh up the educational options available for their children, Mr Caller said:
“Getting the best possible education for your child is paramount for every parent. Home schooling offers a tailor-made education solution and one that is cheaper than you might expect.”
Mr Caller goes on to discuss four main concerns that parents often have when considering the move from private to home school education:
- The cost of private school vs. a home tutor
- The effect on a child’s social development
- The level of education home schooling can provide
- Keeping education consist whilst traveling internationally
Mr Caller says that parents are often surprised at the economics of home schooling, commenting, “If there are two or more children in the family, it is nearly always cheaper to home school than send them to boarding school”. However, he does go on to warn parents of the dangers of focusing too much on the costs, stating, “Although you could find a seemingly cheaper tutor, the level of professionalism and quality of education provided to your child may not be adequate”.
Mr Caller is the founder of leading private tutor agency, Tutors International, an organization with a holistic and thorough recruitment process, and in the article, he states that, “paying less for a tutor may well turn out to be something of a false-economy – and one that could ultimately damage your child’s education.”
The article discusses the benefits of home schooling, suggesting that a well-qualified, hard-working home tutor can be positive experience, both academically and socially. The bespoke tutoring provided by a private tutor can bring unique benefit to not only the student, but their family too.
Adam Caller does not dismiss the merits of a private school education and believes that there are numerous excellent establishments, providing a high standard of education suitable to many. The point he does raise is that it is not the ideal situation for every family – parents who frequently travel may prefer “keeping their families together” and private tutoring offers this.
