Two Intellectual Property Attorneys Join Dickinson Wright's Washington, DC Office
WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) October 18, 2013 -- Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Intellectual Property Attorneys Bruce D. Gray and Fred W. Hathaway have joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as Members.
Bruce Gray is experienced in all phases of patent acquisition, evaluation and litigation for clients in a wide range of technologies including in the chemical, mechanical and electro-mechanical arts. His patent prosecution practice focuses on commercially important patents in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, water purification technologies, engineered alloys, semiconductor processing, waste disposal, and in composite and magnetic materials technologies.
Mr. Gray is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and FICPI. Prior to his law practice, Mr. Gray served as a primary patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications in the organic chemistry, pharmaceutical and pesticide areas. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, his M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and his J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law.
Fred Hathaway’s practice is focused on domestic and international trademark counseling, prosecution, and enforcement including proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, domain name dispute proceedings, and litigation. He led a multi-year national program enforcing rights in the TEXACO trademark and tried numerous trademark infringement cases in U.S. district courts in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Missouri. He was also instrumental in the sale of the iconic GULF trademark.
Mr. Hathaway is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section. He served for several years as an adjunct professor of trademark and unfair competition law at the Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Hathaway was named a “2013 IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property. He received his B.A.M.E. from Harvard University and his J.D. from the University of Maine.
