Two Maricopa Community Colleges Help Students with Financial Aid Form as Part of College Goal FAFSA

Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) February 09, 2016 -- For some parents and lots of students, filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the most daunting part of applying to college. Each year, an event called College Goal FAFSA aims to make it easier.

Two Maricopa Community Colleges – Mesa Community College (MCC) and Phoenix College (PC) – are among several Phoenix-area educational institutions holding events to help current and potential students complete financial aid forms.

Mesa Community College’s event is Saturday, February 13, 2-4 p.m., in the college’s Enrollment Center (Building 39, Room 115), 1933 W. Southern Ave., Mesa.

Phoenix College is holding its event on Saturday, February 13, 2-4 p.m., in the Fannin Library’s Encanto Room, 1202 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix.

College Goal FAFSA aims to help families fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and provide accurate and timely communication about student financial aid. The Initiative features February as a month dedicated to community and local events; and year-round distribution of student financial aid information via its website: collegegoal.az.gov/college-goal-fafsa.

Arizona's College Goal FAFSA is a grant-funded statewide initiative that provides free information and professional assistance to Arizona students and families seeking college financial aid. The Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education has planned and coordinated the initiative since 1996, following the passing of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. The mission of College Goal FAFSA is to increase the number of first-generation, low-income, and under-represented high school seniors and adults entering postsecondary education.
