Two Ten Footwear Foundation Seeks to Provide Additional Scholarship Funds to US Vets
Waltham, MA (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- In observation of Veteran’s Day, Two Ten Footwear Foundation today announced the launch of its Footwear Warriors Phase II Campaign, a concentrated three-month fundraising appeal to increase the number of scholarships made available for Veterans working in or returning to the footwear industry. To increase the number of scholarship funds earmarked for Veterans, the financial goal for phase two is to raise $60,000 by February 28, 2015, which aligns with the scholarship award cycle for the 2015/2016 academic year.
The scholarship fund was first made possible by Quabaug Corporation, Vibram, and the Donahue family with an initial commitment of $130,000. “We created this scholarship to give something back to those men and women who have sacrificed so much for us,” said Kevin Donahue, Chairman and CEO of Quabaug Corporation and Two Ten Honorary Board member.
“In addition to Kevin’s leadership on this campaign, Two Ten is extremely fortunate to have David Sharp, President and CEO of Rocky Brands, as a co-chair for the next phase of the appeal,” said Neal Newman, President, Two Ten. A matching gift fund of over $30,000 has been raised in record time with gifts from Kevin Donahue, Rocky Brands, Vibram and W.L. Gore. This challenge gift fund can be used to match additional gifts up to $30,000 to reach the total Phase II goal of $60,000, bringing the total endowed fund to $360,000.

Founded in 2013, the Footwear Warriors Scholarship was designed to help our Veterans get the additional training and/or education needed after their service to bridge the gap between military and civilian life.
