TZMI celebrates 20th anniversary
(PRWEB UK) 7 February 2014 -- This month TZ Minerals International (TZMI) reaches a significant milestone: 7 February marks the 20th anniversary of its foundation.
During the course of 2014, TZMI will be celebrating two decades of providing insight and expert advice to the titanium and zircon industries.
It is an exciting time in the company’s development, as it prepares to move to the next level in achieving its strategic objectives, including further diversification of the product base and a focus on geographic expansion of services to a global audience.
In the last 20 years TZMI has grown from being a company that focuses on providing research reports, to now seeing 85% of annual revenue being from technical and market strategy consulting assignments.
TZMI executed nearly 300 consulting assignments in the last three years, ranging from feasibility studies to independent market and strategic studies. Clients include 6 of the top 8 titanium feedstock producers, and 4 of the top 5 TiO2 pigment producers, along with a range of titanium metal, paint and coatings, financial institutions and more.

In 1991, Richard Taylor started publishing the Mineral Sands Report (MSR) in association with Industrial Minerals, as part of his consulting business DEMA Pty Ltd. The report has grown through the years but its main premise was to provide independent data and analysis plus information on the mineral sands industry, something which has not changed since its inception.
In 1994, DEMA and Moore Consulting Services joined forces to create TZ Minerals International Pty Ltd (TZMI). The company began to offer more than just MSR; annual publications and multi-client studies by providing more insight into global trends and analysis of the TiO2 pigment industry, the titanium feedstock and zircon sectors, as well as consulting services to the value chain.
The principles of independence and ensuring an accurate database have been paramount during the 20 years and as a result, TZMI prides itself on having by far the most comprehensive database of the industry ensuring it is the leading source of market and technical information for opaque mineral, metal and chemical sectors.
TZMI has continued to grow and expand over the years by adding business units operating in Shanghai, China (TZMI Management Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd) and Houston, US (TZMI, Inc.) as well as taking full ownership in Allied Mineral Laboratories Pty Ltd (AML) based in Perth, Western Australia.
TZMI currently employs more than 50 people at sites across Perth (Australia), Houston (US), Shanghai (China) and Durban (South Africa).
With a client base spanning the globe for technical and engineering services, market and strategic services, and the annual TZMI Congress which is approaching its 8th year in 2014, TZMI looks ahead for future growth across all products and services.
