U2opian Propagandist Continues Crusade with Publication of “Thanks Be to Bono”
Vancouver, British Columbia (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- Bono, rock star and champion of the movement to end extreme poverty, doesn’t like it when you bring up the subject of his divinity. And it’s not hard to imagine why. There aren’t many rock stars who have had an organized religion setup in their honor.
In 2001, Brent Barton, founder and spokesperson for TEMPLE™, rose to fame and notoriety preaching the U2opian belief in peace and love through positive action on global social justice issues. Much like the music it exalted, the new religion struck a chord with people in all nations. Registered TEMPLE™ branches opened in every major city around the world. The dream of peace in our time and food on all tables lived again. But talk about the dream only goes so far. Allegations of fraud, misconduct, and copyright infringement brought a swift end to the organization’s meteoric rise. The unified opposition from the traditional big religions, combined with the inevitable attack from extremists, nearly led to the complete eradication of the faith. Barton’s behavior became more erratic with each passing scandal. In 2011 he was arrested and convicted of criminal harassment.
Having now served his sentence, Barton has resumed his efforts to spread the U2opian agenda and has pledged to help the world’s poorest gain access to clean water. “Distributing water to the thirsty is what, ultimately, the songs are all about,” claims Barton. “They’re a call for immediate action.”
Neither Bono or U2 have issued comment. The singer recently completed a round of media appearances, plugging the rationale for supporting global fair trade initiatives in developing nations. The front man for the world’s biggest rock band informed fans that there is a new U2 album in the works but, so far, final completion to the band’s chart topping standards remains elusive.
