U.S. Marine Corps, MorganFranklin Consulting Partner to Build and Donate 8 Bicycles to Toys for Tots
McLean, VA (PRWEB) December 18, 2013 -- During the holiday season, MorganFranklin Consulting, a leading business consulting and technology solutions company based in McLean, Va., and London, partnered with its clients at the United States Marine Corps (USMC) to build and donate eight bicycles to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Representatives from MorganFranklin and the USMC gathered on Dec. 12 at the consulting firm’s McLean headquarters to present the bicycles and accessories to Toys for Tots. The gifts will be given to area children in need during the holidays.
Attendees were joined by several Marines from Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) as well as one from Marine Forces Reserve Command who works with Toys for Tots to collect and distribute new, unwrapped toys to needy children in the local Washington, D.C., community. During the event, MorganFranklin Consulting CEO C.E. Andrews and Manager Konah Terry presented the Toys for Tots representatives and Marines with the bike donations. Capt. Michael J. Kline, CWO4 Franklin J. Cunningham, CWO3 Grant D. Murphy, and Master Sgt. Johanny Rivera were also presented with certificates thanking them for their involvement and honoring their military service to our country.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve that distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts. The organization, which was founded in 1947 by reservist Maj. Bill Hendricks, aims to unite all members of local communities in a common cause during its annual toy collection and distribution campaign, contributing to better communities in the future. The organization’s stated goal is to “deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.”
