U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (USMARFORRES) Helps West Point Cadets Get Hands On With the Technology of Tomorrow
Lakewood, NJ (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- Brian Feser, CEO & President of MILSPRAY along with the executive management team would like to thank Maintenance Management Chief MGySgt McWilliams and Commanding Officer Col Ricky Brown from the U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (USMARFORRES) in taking the initiative to assist future leaders at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point increase their understanding of renewable energy solutions as it relates to the Department of Defense’s commitment to reduce fuel consumption and increase its use of renewable energy sources by 25% by the year of 2025.
Recently, one of the Scorpion Energy Hunter™ systems was demonstrated at the Base Camp Integration Laboratory (BCIL) in Fort Devens, Massachusetts. During it’s time there the system was being evaluated by the Product Management Force Sustainment Systems (PM FSS) as an energy solution that holistically incorporates renewable energy generation.
The Scorpion Energy Hunter™ systems have also been in use with the Marine Forces at the following locations:
• United States Marines Corps (USMC) Ex-FOB, Twenty-Nine Palms, CA
• MARFORRES Operation Javelin Thrust Hawthorne, NV and Yuma, AZ
• MARFORRES Exercise African Lion in Senegal
• Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, CA
• Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA
Academy Professor LTC Mark Smith at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point will have the ability to incorporate the Scorpion Energy Hunter™ as a teaching tool into USMA’s Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering. West Point has been identified as a Net Zero Energy Pilot Installation by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy, and Environment.
The Scorpion Energy Hunter™ is a deployable hybrid renewable energy system that reduces off grid fuel requirements while improving energy security. The Scorpion system works in any environment and any location. It is flexible and adaptable so that solar power can be effectively harvested at any site. Since it is based on the Quadcon footprint, it is modular and scalable to meet a variety of requirements.
