U.S. Psychiatric and Mental Health Congress Announces Mental Health Systems as 2015 Charitable Partner
Malvern, PA (PRWEB) July 17, 2015 -- The U.S. Psychiatric & Mental Health Congress (Psych Congress) being held at the San Diego Convention Center from September 10-13 is pleased to announce that Mental Health Systems (MHS) has been selected as its 2015 charitable partner. MHS, a non-profit organization, was founded to provide innovative and cost-effective mental health and drug and alcohol recovery services. To date, MHS operates more than 80 community-based programs throughout California for people who either cannot afford privately paid services or for whom appropriate services are not otherwise available.
“The work that the team at MHS does is truly inspiring,” 2015 Psych Congress Co-Chair, Rakesh Jain, MD, MPH, said. “Helping populations that would otherwise not have access to mental health services is both a noble and necessary cause and one for which MHS should be recognized.”
As a precursor to the kickoff keynote address that features mental health advocate and first violin of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Vijay Gupta, MM, Psych Congress will acknowledge Anthony Jensen, MD, Chief Medical Officer at MHS. Dr. Jensen will take the stage to discuss the work that MHS is doing in the state of California and how their organization strives to bring hope and integrity to people’s lives by providing culturally appropriate and strengths-based service plans for individuals and families.
Psych Congress is the nation’s largest independent, cross-discipline educational conference dedicated to psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and wellness. The 28th annual conference, one of the only national mental health education meetings scheduled on the west coast in 2015, will convene nearly 2,000 psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, physician assistants, psychologists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals who seek to increase their knowledge, confidence, and abilities to improve patient outcomes pertaining to mental illness.
Accredited by the North American Center for Continuing Medical Education, LLC (NACCME) a HMP Communications Holdings subsidiary, Psych Congress offers participants the opportunity to earn 28 CME/CE credits. Register today at: http://www.uspsychcongress.com.
