UCIC Launches New Prototyping Skill for Amazon Echo and Alexa Skills Kit
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) March 16, 2016 -- With the success of the Amazon Echo, Unified Computer Intelligence Corporation (UCIC) has launched a new "Skill" for making it faster and easier for developers to connect their APIs to the Amazon Echo for testing. The new skill, called the Ubi Portal Voice Prototyping Tool, allows developers to create customized responses through their Echo or Alexa Voice Service-enabled device and is now available for anyone who has an Amazon Alexa account. Developers can test how their API could work once fully integrated as an Alexa Skills Kit.
Using the tool and the Ubi Portal (portal.theubi.com), developers can create a lesson using simple graphical rules that will teach the Echo new things: sending email and text messages; controlling devices like Nest, Harmony, SmartThings, and others; creating customized responses through the Amazon Echo; and, making calls to web APIs, parsing their requests, and announcing the response back through an Amazon Echo or Alexa Voice Service-connected device.
The tool is free, along with a free account on the Ubi Portal. The goal of the tool is to make it much easier for developers to start testing out their APIs for ambient voice interaction.
