Ucompass, Florida Virtual School, Leon County Schools Partner to Develop Blended Learning Platform
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- Ucompass, developer of the highly successful Educator Learning Management System, has teamed with its long-time partners Florida Virtual School® (FLVS®) and the Leon County (Florida) School District (LCS) to create a platform that will bring powerful teaching and learning tools to the classroom.
The early results of their collaboration were on display Oct. 28-30 to attendees of the iNACOL Blended and Online Learning Symposium in Orlando, Florida.
Leaders from the partnered organizations took the stage to discuss how they are bringing together their respective strengths in education technology (Ucompass), digital curriculum (FLVS), and school district infrastructure leadership (LCS) to combine the best of both online and classroom instruction.
The presentation centered on the seven foundational pillars the team believes are critical to the success of the initiative: personalized and prescriptive learning; responsive design; data warehousing; systems integration; increased connectivity; 1:1 device strategy; gaming and activities.
Ucompass’ flagship platform, Educator, has powered Florida Virtual School classrooms since 2003 and the Leon County Schools online classrooms since 2010. The new platform, called Educator 3, will be piloted in Leon County Schools with plans of a wider release to start the 2014-15 school year.
