Boston, MA (PRWEB) December 03, 2015 -- Students at six New England Universities are about to have a much easier time searching for employment thanks to uConnect, a platform making career services a part of the campus culture. The platform helps colleges and universities use digital and social media channels to strategically engage students and drive usage of resources in their career centers. From December through February, the universities will be rolling out the uConnect platform that includes career news and advice, job postings, alumni networking opportunities, and recruiting opportunities on communication channels that resonate best with student populations.
“Our mission two fold: to help college career centers provide students with resources and services that will help them succeed and also help schools promote their career services to prove that an investment in their college is worthwhile. A school’s career services might soon be a more important factor of student success than its faculty so it’s critical that today’s higher ed institution engages not only students but prospective students in the career conversation,” says David Kozhuk, founder of uConnect.
Universities that have signed on with uConnect include: Bentley University, Boston College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Connecticut (UConn), Assumption College and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). The university branded career services platform from uConnect also includes a backend for career center staff to review the effectiveness of posts and student engagement.
“We are thrilled to be working with these prominent New England Universities. It is especially meaningful because New England is our home and where we are an active part of the local community,” says Kozhuk.
uConnect emerged from the prestigious LearnLaunchX Education Technology accelerator program in 2014. Since then the company has won 1st Prize at New Hampshire’s Largest Technology Start-up Competition and has received two rounds of funding. The company will be exhibiting at upcoming SoACE conference in Austin (12/6-9) and MPACE conference in Florida (12/9-11).
