UcreateComics Invites Submissions to its Million Dollar Fund
Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) August 21, 2013 -- UcreateComics debuted at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con with renowned artist Neal Adams (Batman, X-Men, Superman) and writer Chris Claremont (creator of the Dark Phoenix and many other great storylines and characters for both DC and Marvel) sharing their experience in making it in the comic book business and offering valuable tips for today’s aspiring creators.
The event officially launched the website by kicking off the company’s first $50,000 pitch competition. UcreateComics is an online comic book community with a Million Dollar Fund for comic book development. UcreateComics accepts all concept pitches, puts them to member votes and then awards comic book development deals of up to $50,000. It is the training ground for aspiring artists and writers to compete for paying contracts where creators always keep their rights.
Over the coming months, UcreateComics is sponsoring seminars with artists and writers at comic cons across North America. They’ll share their experience in making it in the comic book business and offer valuable tips for today’s aspiring creators.
At the Chicago event, Neal Adams explained, “UcreateComics is trying to help people to move forward and to learn the things they need to be professional artists and storytellers and then to reward them for it by giving them the opportunity to see their work published.”
Here’s how it works: Fans, writers and artists with ideas for comic books post them to UcreateComics.com competitions for the chance to win a development deal worth up to $50,000. Members vote to determine what concepts are chosen and which Freelancer Writer and Artist members win scripting and illustrating contracts.
UcreateComics will feature a variety of competitions for creators to compete for paid contracts. In Chicago, in addition to its first Pitch Competition, UcreateComics and Write Brothers Software launched a comic book writing competition, “Become Extraordinary.”
