Ultimate Spelling Developer eReflect Congratulates Participants In The Scripps National Spelling Bee
New York City, NY (PRWEB) June 23, 2014 -- Ultimate Spelling™ developer eReflect congratulates all participants in the Scripps National Spelling Bee competition. This year the competition started with the preliminaries on May 28 with 281 participants, and culminated May 29 with the finals. For the first time since 1962, the Scripps National Spelling Bee named two co-champions, Sriram Hathwar and Ansun Sujoe. There were participants as young as 8 years old in this year's lineup, but the majority of participants were between 12 and 14 years old.
The two young co-champions proved to be equally effective masters of orthography, spelling long and difficult words such as “sdruciolla” and “augenphilologie.”
The Maryland 2014 finals made history, and eReflect hopes that this exciting finish will inspire more students to get involved in local and national spelling bees. eReflect notes that spelling bees of this sort serve as a fine example of perseverance and as a proof that effective, strategic studying does pay off. The two co-champions exhausted the word lists provided for the competition, correctly spelling every word given by the judges.
Hathwar, a 14-year old student from Painted Post, New York, had to spell “stichomythia”to be crowned the competition’s champion. Sujoe, a 13-year old student from Forth Worth, Texas, had to spell the word “feuilleton” correctly. Both succeeded and both were crowned champions.
As eReflect notes, the list of competitors was almost evenly divided between boys and girls, showing that any young student can learn better spelling skills. High-profile spelling bee competitions like the Scripps National Spelling Bee are important events that help students understand the importance of spelling and remind them how much fun it is to know how to spell.
eReflect, creator of spelling software Ultimate Spelling™, congratulates all 281 participants in this year's Scripps National Spelling Bee and extends special congratulations to the young men who proved to have exceptional spelling skills and who have made history with their shared victory. Many children are intimidated by the spelling rules and spelling absurdities of the English language, but eReflect hopes that this year’s Scripps National Spelling Bee will help change each child's mind and show them how fun - and essential - spelling skills truly are.
