Ultra Electronics – USSI Launches a UL 1480 Listed Speaker for the Fire and Life Safety Market
Columbia City, IN (PRWEB) January 08, 2016 -- Ultra Electronics, USSI is pleased to announce the release of its UL 1480 Wet and ULC S541 listed speaker. The UL listed TCPA-Omni will be available through multiple channels including fire and life safety OEMs, emergency communication system OEMs, integration partners, and end users. USSI’s UL listed TCPA-Omni produces clear and intelligible omnidirectional sound and can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. Because of its power and clarity, the UL listed TCPA-Omni thrives in environments where traditional speaker cluster horns struggle to perform; revolutionizing the fire and life safety market.
The UL listed TCPA-Omni can cover large facilities with a small quantity of units, replacing a commonly utilized solution that calls for several hundred speaker horns. Because of the reduced number of speakers, the customer will see significant savings in required backup power, installation labor, installation materials, and long term maintenance costs. In addition, speaker solutions with substantially fewer units will yield a more efficient, less invasive installation while significantly increasing the overall quality of sound.
“We are happy to introduce a UL listed HyperSpike speaker to the fire and life safety market,” said Patrick Allison, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We are bringing sound quality and clarity to the industry with a speaker that has been designed around the voice of the customer, and proven to meet the standards for fire alarm and emergency communication applications.”
The TCPA-Omni can be powered directly from a fire alarm control panel, giving the customer a fully UL listed solution. The unit has three power taps (50W, 100W, and 200W) which are configured during installation. The UL listed TCPA-Omni has an impressive acoustic density; weighing only 19 pounds with a maximum output of 129 dB at one meter within a radius of 360 degrees. The unit is corrosion resistant, allowing it to withstand the industry’s harshest environmental conditions. The housing is injection molded in color and UV stable to prevent unsightly surface damage as well as maintain a quality appearance over time.
