Unanimous AI’s Swarm AI Named a Finalist in Prestigious SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) February 12, 2018 -- The SXSW (South by Southwest) Interactive Festival has named Unanimous AI and its Swarm AI® technology a finalist for a 2018 SXSW Interactive Innovation Award. The 21st annual SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards celebrate the most forward-thinking developments in the connected world. Swarm AI is nominated in a new category, “AI & Machine Learning,” that honors digital systems with the ability to adapt to changing data, stimuli and circumstances; replicating learning, problem solving and cognition.
Swarm AI technology has made headlines by tapping into and amplifying the intelligence of groups to successfully predict the Kentucky Derby, TIME’s Person of the Year, Academy Awards, and even the President’s approval rating, and was recently named one of the top AI Advancements of 2017 by Disruption.
In 2017, Unanimous unveiled Swarm Insight, harnessing the power of the Artificial Swarm Intelligence to produce deeper insights and optimized decision-making for Fortune 500 corporations.
Swarm AI technology combines real-time human input with artificial intelligence algorithms, optimizing the combined knowledge, wisdom, insights and intuition of the target population. Inspired by the biological process of Swarm Intelligence, the technology is modeled after the way birds flock, bees swarm, and fish school to amplify their intelligence and solve complex problems. While humans have not evolved this ability naturally, researchers at Unanimous AI have enabled it artificially, allowing groups of people to amplify their intelligence by forming real-time swarms online.
SXSW experts and industry peers judge entrants on four criteria: creativity, form, function and overall experience. After reviewing hundreds of applications, the advisory board of SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards jurists selected Swarm AI and four other finalists from around the world for the “AI & Machine Learning” category. SXSW describes the finalists as “trendsetting new contributions to the connected world.”
“We’re honored to have our Swarm AI technology named a finalist for the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards," said Dr. Louis Rosenberg, CEO of Unanimous AI. “And with other finalists in the AI category including technology powerhouses like Toyota and IBM Watson, we are pleased to be in such good company.”
Swarm AI and the other finalists will exhibit their work, including hands-on demos, for SXSW registrants Sunday, March 11, at the Finalist Showcase where judges will complete their second round of voting and determine the winners in each category, plus six additional honors, including Best of Show, People’s Choice, Breakout Trend of the Event, Speaker of the Event and Meme of the Year. Festival organizers will announce the winners at the Innovation Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in Austin.
