Unbound Welcomes Pritha Hariharan To Work With Asia Programs
(PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- Unbound, the largest nonprofit organization in Kansas, is pleased to announce Pritha Hariharan as regional project director.
She will monitor and support programs in India and the Philippines, where Unbound works with children and families on education, microfunding, homes, health and disaster response in conjunction with its sponsorship program.
Hariharan grew up in India and is fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
She holds a Master of Arts in Global and International Studies, Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
“I’ve seen poverty firsthand,” said Hariharan. “The challenges are unfathomable to people in the United States. I have a background that understands that.”
Hariharan spent six months living in a village in India during college. The people she lived among had no running water, no electricity and little education, yet they had hope a better life would be possible.
Dan Pearson, director of international programs at Unbound, said he is delighted to have Hariharan as part of the Unbound team.
“As an organization that tries to walk in daily solidarity with marginalized families, we are very excited that Pritha will bring these experiences to her work with the families we serve.”
Hariharan lives in Kansas City, Mo., with her husband and infant son.
Unbound is the largest nonprofit organization in Kansas with more than $120 million in annual revenue. Unbound works side by side with people of diverse faiths in 20 countries, bringing people together to challenge poverty in new and innovative ways.
Unbound distributes direct aid as quickly and efficiently as possible to people who need it. 92.5 percent of Unbound's expenses go toward program support.
