UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School Launches Responsive Website
Chapel Hill, N.C. (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School has launched a responsive website to ensure that users have the best experience regardless of whether they are accessing the site with a smart phone, a tablet or a desktop computer.
With responsive design, the UNC Kenan-Flagler website is easier for users of mobile devices to navigate and search to find the content they want, such as information about a degree program, faculty research or an upcoming event.
“As a leading business school competing in a global market, we continuously look for ways to improve both our messages and how we deliver them,” said Michael Schinelli, UNC Kenan-Flagler chief marketing officer. “Whether researching details about our programs or accessing our multi-media, website users now have an optimal experience with every device, screen size or operating system they are using.”
Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of U.S. cell phone owners use their phone to go online, according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project. That figure has doubled since the group first started tracking Internet usage on cell phones in 2009. In addition, 34 percent of those users mostly go online using their cell phone – meaning that 21 percent all adult cell owners do most of their online browsing on their mobile phones—and not on a desktop or laptop computer.
“This research confirms what we anticipated – young adults – around the globe – turn to mobile phones first and most often to access content online,” Schinelli said.
"We understand the critical importance of the digital experience for our stakeholders and prospective students around the world,” he said. “With nearly 100 percent growth year over year of mobile visitors to our website, we set out to optimize our site across all screens. We are very pleased with the results and how this compliments the recent mobile app launches of our magazines, UNC Business and R.O.I., as well as The MBA App."
