Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 12, 2016 -- The Los Angeles Area Office of UNCF (United Negro College Fund) will host its 27th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast on January 18th. For nearly three decades, this event has celebrated the life and achievements of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Morehouse College graduate of the class of 1948. Kenston J. Griffin, CEO of Dreambuilders Communications Inc., will be the keynote speaker. With close to 900 attendees each year, support of this event provides area students with the necessary resources to get to and through college.
“We are so proud of UNCF’s Inter-Alumni Council and this 27th annual celebration of service, community, and education,” said Jennifer L. Childress, UNCF Los Angeles Area Development Director. “Hundreds of Los Angeles students attend UNCF member institutions and leave their collegiate experience as leaders and change-agents, and return to Los Angeles to make an impact in our community. The funds raised at this wonderful event will help UNCF and our member schools to continue this legacy, and develop the next generation of scholars.”
