UniKey Announces New Integration Between Smart Lock Kwikset Kevo and Honeywell Total Connect Comfort Wi-Fi Thermostats

As a result, homeowners who own a Kevo smart lock and a Honeywell Total Connect Comfort Wi-Fi thermostat can pair the devices to achieve greater energy efficiency and save money. Users who pair their Kevo and Honeywell smart devices will experience added convenience as they will no longer have to remember to adjust their thermostats when they arrive or leave home.
Upon locking, Kevo will prompt the homeowner or Kevo user to confirm they are “Away” and will tell the compatible Honeywell thermostat to automatically adjust to the user’s preferred temperature setting, as previously defined in the Kevo app. When the homeowner arrives home or unlocks Kevo, the lock will prompt the homeowner to confirm their status as “Home” and set the thermostat to the user's preferred temperature setting.
Working in tandem, Kevo and the Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat can adjust the temperature to meet the needs of multiple users. When a new family member arrives home and unlocks Kevo, Kevo recognizes the user and tells the Honeywell thermostat to adjust to his or her preferred temperature setting. When multiple family members are home together, the thermostat will defer to a preset neutral temperature.
In addition to enjoying more convenient comfort while at home, users of Kevo and Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostats can also lower temperatures when they are not home so that they can realize greater energy savings.
