(PRWEB) January 28, 2016 -- Christopher Ostrovski, President and CEO of Stemmed Implant Technology Inc., is pleased to announce the company’s unique dental implant product has successfully completed stress and fatigue testing that are a pre-cursor to clinical trials.
The intensive testing was carried out by at the Dental Research Institute, located with the Faculty of Dentistry at the University on Toronto. The evaluation exposed the company’s internationally patented titanium implants to more than five million cycles.
“In essence they took the implants and hit them with a pneumatic hammer 5 million times to ensure they would not break down or wear down,” says Ostrovski. “All sizes of our implants performed well under the ISO 14801 testing protocol established for dental implants.”
Stemmed Implant Technology Inc. is life sciences product development firm committed to bringing a new and unique dental implants system to market. The company’s “stemmed” implants provide a stronger and less invasive alternative to the screw implants on the market.
“Teeth have roots, not screws. Our unique design, manufactured using 3-D printing technology, draws on nature’s design to provide patients with an implant that are more easily installed and less prone to failure,” says Ostrovski.
With the positive results from the University of Toronto study in hand, the company has begun the planning for clinical trials and has begun initial discussions with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Health Canada to launch the regulatory process.
