Unique New School Specifically Designed for Student Athletes

US Performance Academy (USPA) is built on the distinctive demands facing today’s scholar athlete. USPA offers a customized academic calendar, an individualized learning plan, learning coaches, and a network of fellow student athletes to interact with around the country.
Co-founder of USPA, Peter Smith, believes that USPA is the solution for the many challenges today’s scholar athlete faces in balancing academics and athletics. “USPA is designed to support the serious athlete and provide a college preparatory program that eliminates the issues that they face in a traditional school setting. Learning no longer needs to be dictated by the physical location of our students,” says Smith. “We support our athletes on every level. As a college-preparatory independent school, USPA has the flexibility to customize each student’s school year, schedule, and coursework. Grades, projects, papers, exams, and lessons are held in an online platform so students can take their school with them when they travel. This also allows students to do their school work on their own time. USPA is mastery-based and self-paced allowing students to work through the material at their own speed.
Since managing school work and school schedule is a large responsibility, students are assigned a learning coach who works as a liaison between the school and each student and their family. Learning coaches get to know the student and teach them time-management, organization, and college-preparatory skills that will help them to be successful beyond middle and high school. From competitive sailors to gymnasts, USPA is designed to support the entire student.
