United for a Diverse America: The 87th LULAC National Convention and Exposition Welcomes Leading Government Officials at the Washington Hilton, D.C.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 07, 2016 -- The League of United Latin American Citizens will hold its 87th Annual National Convention and Exposition in Washington, D.C. from July 12 through July 16, 2016. The event is the oldest and largest gathering of Latino leaders in the nation and packs more energy and excitement than any other event in the Latino community. This year's event will be featuring keynote addresses by our nation's top leaders, including presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Unity Luncheon on Thursday, July 14. The Unity Luncheon will also include the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy, and U.S. House of Representatives Minority Whip Steny Hoyer. Each will address issues of concern to the Latino Community.
The luncheons are limited to invited and registered guests. The Washington Hilton is located at 1919 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.

On Tuesday, July 12 and Wednesday, July 13 Acting Director of the Office of Personnel Management Beth F. Colbert, U.S. House of Representatives Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, and District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser will help to kick-off the 87th LULAC National Convention and Exposition.
In addition, Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will speak on Wednesday, July 13 during the convention's Partnership Luncheon. At the Commemorative Forever Stamp Ceremony, Secretary of Education John B. King, Jr. will help honor the memory of well-respected educator Jaime Escalante.
U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez will provide remarks at the Women's Luncheon on Friday, July 15.
The Presidential Awards Banquet will close out the convention with remarks from U.S. Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch on Friday, July 15.
