University of Arkansas Theatre Showcases Talent and Humor with Student Shows
Fayetteville, AR (PRWEB) June 16, 2014 -- The University of Arkansas’ new theatre season doesn't begin until the fall, but that doesn't mean this summer brings no entertainment. The drama department will be serving up some laughs and more at the end of the month when students take center stage for the annual Original One-Person Shows and Comedy Improv.
The shows start at 7:30 p.m. on June 27 and 28 in Studio 404. Studio 404 is located on the fourth floor of Kimpel Hall on the main campus at the University of Arkansas.
These works-in-progress are written, directed and performed by the students, and will include a delicious mix of comedy, drama, and musical entertainment. Students will have the opportunity to show off their wide range of talents as each performance is written, directed and acted by one of the students of the one-person show class.
Shortly following the Original One-Person Shows, performers trained by Department of Drama faculty member Kris Stoker will create characters and entire story lines based on audience suggestions. With no lines, no props and no sets, students will be armed with just their creativity. These comedy improv shows are sure to have the audience laughing so hard they cry!
Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy some true entertainment. Tickets are $3 each for one night or $5 for both nights. To purchase tickets, visit http://drama.uark.edu.
