University of Illinois Opts for Trafficware’s Adaptive Signal Technology
Sugar Land, Texas (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- Trafficware is proud to announce that the University of Illinois has chosen SynchroGreen to foster the improvement of safety and traffic operations along the streets of the University’s campus in Champaign, Illinois. SynchroGreen will be installed at six intersections along Neil Street near the University of Illinois. The installment will be completed using the City of Champaign’s existing traffic controllers, currently serving the University.
The University of Illinois chose SynchroGreen over other systems to power its first adaptive corridor due to SynchroGreen’s powerful algorithm; reputation for reliability; real-time optimization of splits, cycle, and offset; and ability to use existing traffic infrastructure. The deployment in Champaign will be Trafficware’s first in the State of Illinois. The system will also be used in operational and safety studies conducted by the University over the next few years.
