University of St. Augustine Names New Chair of Institute of Physical Therapy
San Marcos, California (PRWEB) June 06, 2015 -- The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences announced that Dr. Ellen Lowe has been named chair of its Institute of Physical Therapy, effective May 1. In this role, she coordinates all physical therapy programs with a focus on curricula, outcomes assessment and accreditation.
Dr. Lowe brings more than 40 years of clinical experience and 18 years of instructional experience to the position, having practiced in a variety of treatment settings including acute care, outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing facilities, hand therapy, and pediatrics. Prior to joining the university in 2007, Dr. Lowe served as an assistant professor at A.T. Still University in Missouri and as an instructor for the Apollo Education Group in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Lowe received her PhD in Health Sciences with an emphasis on health research from Touro University International, her Master of Health Sciences from the University of Indianapolis, and her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Boston University. Dr. Lowe is an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Credentialed Clinical Instructor and a graduate of APTA’s Education Leadership Institute (ELI) Fellowship. She is also a member of APTA’s Education sections.
