University Services’ Dr. Benjamin Gerson Appointed to the National Sleep Foundation’s Board of Directors
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- Dr. Benjamin Gerson, who was the chair of the 2013 Sleep Health & Safety Conference program, has been appointed to the National Sleep Foundation’s Board of Directors and will serve on the Development Committee as well as chair the 2014 conference.
Dr. Gerson was instrumental in coordinating the speakers from various transportation industries to discuss fatigue and sleep disorders risk management in the workplace at the Sleep Health & Safety Conference. Dr. Gerson is well suited for the role of conference chair due to his experience working with these topics in the transportation industry. He was part of a task force of physicians who developed the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine guidance for physicians in implementing fatigue risk management in the workplace and also was a member of the American Petroleum Institute committee that created recommendations for Fatigue Risk Management Systems in Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries. The results of each of these have been published.
