Uniweld Customer in Guatemala Provides Solution for HVACR Techs Brazing with Oxygen & Acetylene in Latin American
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Refilling MC acetylene cylinders in Latin America, can many times take several days. The popular MC acetylene cylinder is used in several of Uniweld’s portable cutting and brazing outfits. In the U.S., it is common for an HVACR technician to simply exchange their empty MC acetylene cylinder for a filled cylinder. In Latin America, many times the MC acetylene cylinder is taken to a charging plant to be filled. The charging plants are at times in different locations, thus the reason for the extended time to receive a fully charged cylinder.
Uniweld’s K23P-T and K22P-T with Cap’n Hook brazing tips are among Latin America’s most popular portable brazing outfits. Julio Vigil, HVACR technician for FrioAire in Guatemala meticulously studies Uniweld’s product offerings. In doing so, he suggested that while the MC acetylene cylinder is being refilled, that HVACR technicians waiting to receive back their charged cylinder, could use Uniweld’s FV600 oxy/fuel adaptor and propylene disposable cylinders which in the Latin American markets is readily available as Map//Pro™. This is an excellent suggestion, as it permits the HVACR technician the ability to continue brazing with a high heat level when using the combination of oxygen and propylene.
Uniweld’s fuel valve adaptor connects to a Uniweld MC series regulator (CGA200 connection) to the disposable propylene fuel cylinder (CGA600). Uniweld’s TYPE17 series brazing tips which are included in the K23P-T and K22P-T outfits, are compatible with both oxy/acetylene and oxy/propylene. All of the Uniweld acetylene regulator diaphragms and seals are compatible for use with either propylene or propane fuel gas. Fuel compatibility with other manufacturer’s acetylene regulators and other series brazing tips must be determined prior to use.
The optimum solution in Latin America, is to keep a spare MC acetylene cylinder on hand. If the technician’s budget does not permit him to keep a spare on hand, Uniweld’s FV600 oxy/fuel adaptor is a very economical solution which can be implemented while waiting for the MC acetylene cylinder to be refilled. “Good thinking Julio!” We hope to hear from others as to how using Uniweld products, has helped them resolve challenges in their work routine. Uniweld, quality tools that go to work with you.®
