Unprecedented Pet Oxygen Mask Donation at PNC Park
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) September 12, 2015 -- When a house fire occurs people know to run from the home. Pets, however, run and hide. Because of their natural reaction over 75,000 pets die from house fires every year in the US. Most from smoke inhalation.
Invisible Fence® Brand developed a program to help emergency responders provide the first aid needed to help save pet's lives in fires. Their goal is to ensure that every fire department and rescue unit is equipped with a life-saving pet oxygen mask. Project Breathe™ is now in its 10th year and over 10000 Pet Oxygen Masks have been donated to Fire Departments in the US and Canada.
Invisible Fence of Pittsburgh supplies not only the mask, but encourages all first responders to be trained in using the mask and in basic first aide for pets who are injured. They work with the Westmoreland County Animal Response Team to provide training seminars where proper use of the mask is taught and attendees can practice Pet First Aid and CPR.
Three special events will be held for the departments receiving masks in October.
