Upcoming Debut Album from Punk Rock Band Awful Normals
Newport Beach, California (PRWEB) October 22, 2014 -- Awful Normals, is set to release their debut album “Functional” and bring new life back to the punk rock music scene in Southern California. This album stays true to old school punk rock ways while also offering a new and refreshing sound. “Functional” is set to release late November, 2014. Awful Normals will be going on an album release tour December 1st -14th and have recently booked a show with their biggest musical influence, Lagwagon on November 8th at the Observatory in Santa Ana.
Lead singer /songwriter Blake Bartlett and guitarist Mike Williams have been playing in bands together since high school. After a few years apart, they reconnected and formed Awful Normals. They rounded out the rythym section of the band with the additions of Eric Schubring on bass and Marcus Gazaway on drums. They derive inspirations from some of their favorite punk bands, such as Lagwagon, Pennywise and Decedents. This album is filled with progressive riffs and melodic vocals, coming together to create a sound that all punk rock fans will enjoy.
Awful Normals recently went on a small tour playing all over right here in Orange County, where they were met with rave reviews from fans. They played at venues like Slidebar in Fullerton, Gaslamp in Long Beach and the iconic Doll Hut in Anaheim, said to be the birth place of punk rock music in Orange County. “Where have you guys been? The punk scene has been waiting for music like that for a long time,” said an attendee at the Doll Hut show in Anaheim.
