The webinar, entitled “Federal Contracting 2013: Year in Review,” will help attendees accomplish the following:

  • Deal with the lingering effects of sequestration as they pertain to federal contracting.
  • Understand how new statutes, regulations, and case decisions will affect government contracting.
  • Become aware of any changes between final rules and interim rules for federal contracting.
  • Know what new federal-contracting publications are available.
  • Become conversant with new cases (pre-award or post-award) changing the pre-existing rules or putting a finer point on pre-existing rules.

Addressing the webinar audience will be Oles, Morrison, Rinker & Baker Partner James Nagle and Jonathan DeMella, a partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP.

Mr. Nagle’s practice focuses on government contracts. His work has involved supply, services, international, major systems, and construction contracts. Government officials and contractors have drawn upon his services as a consultant, expert witness, and arbitrator/mediator.

Mr. DeMella’s practice focuses on government contracts counseling and litigation, including performance disputes, bid protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and Federal Aviation Administration, size and status protests before the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), civil fraud under the False Claims Act, procurement ethics, mandatory disclosure, and compliance with SBA laws and regulations, including those specific to Alaska Native corporations.

After their presentations, there will be an interactive 10-to-15 minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.
