Upstart Headphone Company PUMP Audio Dominates Blindfold Test
London (PRWEB UK) 9 February 2016 -- Upstart headphone company PUMP Audio have released test results which they claim show that PUMP Audio’s headphones have superior sound quality to the current leader in the market.
On 14th February 2015 they conducted a blindfold test at the Westwood Cross shopping centre in the UK. The objective was to find out which earphones people preferred the sound of; PUMP Audio In Ear headphones or their leading competitor.
Consumers were asked to put on a blindfold and listen to 2 sets of earphones, and then choose which ones they preferred the sound of. There were 2 data sets, meaning that sometimes PUMP Audio was listened to first and sometimes the other brand were listened to first.
52 people took the test and these were the results:
– 2 of the tests were void (because one person voiced a negative opinion about the other brand and the other person removed the blindfold too soon).
Of the 50 valid tests:
– 13 said they preferred the competition
– 37 said that they preferred PUMP Audio
In the test, 74% of people preferred the sound of PUMP Audio.
PUMP filmed the test continually but don’t plan to make the video public because there were private conversations and the people taking the test did not sign a broadcast release. They have however said that they will make it available to any governing agencies who ask them to substantiate the claim.
PUMP Audio founder Adam Blair said, "I'm actually surprised that only 74% of people preferred the sound of PUMP. From less scientific consumer testing we've done previously and since, I would have expected it to be more like 95%. Still, we're delighted with the results."
A company spokesman said: "We didn't release these results before because we wanted to make sure that we were on solid legal ground before doing so."
