US Federal Contractor Registration: System for Award Management (SAM) Adds Four New Mandatory DFARS Questions to Registration
Washington D.C. (PRWEB) January 23, 2015 -- US Federal Contractor Registration Case Managers are urging registered government contractors to reconfirm their status in System for Award Management (SAM) in order to stay compliant with the new DFARS questions. Over this past Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, the General Services Administration (GSA) updated the SAM registration incorporating four new mandatory questions under the following DFARS: 252.209-7002 and 252.225-7049. Case Manager Christie Jackson of US Federal Contractor Registration noticed the SAM registration change on the morning of January 19, 2015.
If a business has not updated or verified their SAM registration in last six days, US Federal Contractor Registration is encouraging businesses to call their Contractor Helpline at 1(877) 252-2700 Ext 1 to make sure their registration is still valid. Businesses that do not answer the five new DFARS question on the SAM registration will not be considered valid, and will lose opportunities contracting for the United States Federal Government.
The five new SAM DFARS questions are as follows:
32. Is this business a foreign entity in which the government of a covered foreign country has ownership interest that enables the government to affect satellite operations? (DFARS 252.225-7049)
33. Is this business a foreign entity that plans to provide or use launch or other satellite services under the contract from a covered foreign country? (DFARS 252.225-7049)
34. Is this business offering commercial satellite services provided by a foreign entity in which the government of a covered foreign country has an ownership interest that enables the government to affect satellite operations? (DFARS 252.225-7049)
35. Is this business offering commercial satellite services provided by a foreign entity that plans to or is expected to provide or use launch or other satellite services under the contract from a covered foreign country? (DFARS 252.225-7049)
SAM is the mandatory federal database that every business must be registered in to accept government contracts from government buyers. SAM replaced the previous contractor registration database of CCR/ORCA back in August 2012. Since this migration, businesses have been flocking to US Federal Contractor Registration to become properly registered or begin a government marketing program. US Federal Contractor Registration is the world’s largest third party registration firm that prepares small businesses for government contracting by applying the same tools and strategies used by Fortune 500 companies.
Government marketing programs like the nationally recognized Simplified Acquisition Program have helped businesses network with procurement officer, establish notable brand awareness in the federal marketplace, and win government contracts. Every potential contractor must conduct a qualifying process in order to determine which government marketing program is a good fit for their business model. During the qualification process, an Acquisition Specialist will review a business’s federal competition rate, find available federal contracts, and discover government spending trends.
Businesses that would like to learn more about the Simplified Acquisition Program can speak with Acquisition Specialist Justin Jones by contacting him at 1(877) 252-2700 Ext 757 or by visiting http://www.simplifiedacquisitionprogram.org/.
