US IP PROXY list offers China high-speed access to unrestricted web
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- idcloak Technologies releases a US IP Proxy list, a live database of public servers which permit free connection to the internet via American internet service providers (ISPs). The firm hopes it will serve liberal Chinese internet users wishing to access sites banned on their local connection.
To operate, the proxies only require a local internet connection. Once connected to the US server, the user may bypass any web restrictions associated with their physical location, including both government censorship and geofiltering.
“Most of China’s internet emerges from California,” says idcloak’s lead researcher, Robin Welles, “and for Chinese users this makes American proxies superior in speed to those in other parts of the world. Our database also runs live checks to show the user which proxies on display are the fastest. Speed is key to practical HTTP proxy use so we’ve made it a priority.”
In addition to performance, Welles says language is another benefit of US proxies. “The languages of China’s neighbouring countries are not widely known to Chinese netizens, meaning, say, an Indonesia Proxy List will bring up a lot of incomprehensible content. English is far more familiar, which makes a US proxy connection desirable.”
The HTTPS encryption offered by many of the servers in the US IP Proxy list is also of significant value, “Discretion is essential when accessing web content banned in your country,” says Welles. “If such content is transferred back to the user over an unencrypted connection, it will likely be seen by the censorship filters. This could lead to the proxy being blocked or, under certain circumstances, even criminal proceedings being brought against the user. But by connecting to an HTTPS proxy, the user can trust that their activity is happening away from the eyes of monitors.”
idcloak offers further customization options on the presented list. For example, a user may easily create a SOCKS5 proxy list to access Skype in a country where government surveillance of the service is less of a concern.
