US Sports Camps and Nike Golf Camps Bring New Day Camp Program to Birmingham, Alabama
San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) January 28, 2015 -- US Sports Camps announces the newest junior golf camp located in the heart of Birmingham, AL at Highland Park Golf Course – rated “4 Stars” by Golf Digest and “Best Public Golf Course in Birmingham” by Birmingham Magazine.
“Birmingham is a terrific golf community and we are excited to grow our presence in the area,” states Vice President of Nike Golf Camps, Nicholas Brunner. “Highland Park has an enthusiastic staff of teaching pros who are eager to help junior golfers improve and look forward to the opportunity to host Nike Camps.”
The camp is led by Highland Park Director of Player Development, Max Doster. In addition to private lessons and group clinics, Doster serves as PGA Junior League Golf Captain, SNAG Golf Instructor at Lifetime Fitness, and as a Get Golf Ready Instructor. He was nominated for the 2014 PGA Dixie Section Special Award for Youth Player Development and, in 2014, he taught over 1,000 lessons across his four golf programs.
“Player development, especially in junior golfers, is a continued emphasis at Highland Park Golf Course,” states Camp Director, Max Doster. “For the first time, Highland Park has partnered with US Sports Camps to host Nike Junior Golf Camps during the summer months. These camps will provide quality instruction in all areas of the game of golf, creating comfort and future success going forward. We look forward to hosting these camps for juniors and hope we can make a lasting impact on the progression of our participants.”
Five week-long sessions are offered throughout the summer and each runs Monday – Friday. Full-day and half-day programs are offered to accommodate junior golfers of all skill levels. Half-day camps run from 9:00AM – Noon and full-day camps go from 9:00AM – 4:00PM. The camp is co-ed and is suitable for golfers ages 7 – 17.
The low student-to-teacher ratio allows staff to focus on putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing, developing each athlete’s skills. Full-day camp participants have the opportunity to play the course each afternoon to apply what they’ve learned during the morning instructional sessions.
