USA Security Officer Teaches Kids Lifesaving Skills
(PRWEB) October 22, 2014 -- A security officer with the Wilmington, Del., branch of U.S. Security Associates (USA) is providing a public safety service off-the-clock for local area youth. In his personal time, Security Officer Les Myers is teaching boys and girls the lifesaving techniques he learned in security officer training for his career with U.S. Security Associates. Officer Myers is a graduate of USA Security Academy, the organization that develops and administers award-winning security officer training programs for the national security company.
Recently, Officer Myers met with leaders from the Elkton Dojo’s Order of the Isshinryu Youth Karate Group to schedule a training session for the group’s students. Officer Myers taught students ages 7-13 the basics of emergency medical response. Students learned to perform CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and how to use an AED.
In a letter of thanks, the karate group’s sensei wrote, “Great job by Mr. Myers! We really appreciate your time and you sharing your knowledge with us. Thank you.” Myers plans to schedule regular training sessions with incoming students.
Officer Myers considers community service a natural extension of his work as a security officer. “Protecting others was my motivation to enter the security service industry. USA Security Academy has taught me skills and techniques that can make the difference in saving someone’s life. Sharing this knowledge with others is a great way for me to pay it forward and serve this community.”
U.S. Security Associates is recognizing Officer Myers for his service with a Certificate of Achievement, as part of the company’s incentive and awards program to honor employees’ contributions to the communities where they live and work. This program earned USA the Bronze Award this September for “Best in Rewards and Recognition” in the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards Program.
