USA Water Ski Foundation Announces Relocation Plans
Polk City, FL (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- The USA Water Ski Foundation announced today plans to relocate the organization’s Headquarters, Hall of Fame and Museum to the city of Auburndale’s Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. Plans include the building of a wakeboard cable park and water ski complex to accommodate multiple disciplines of towed water sports.
Lake Myrtle, a beautiful 76 acre lake, situated on the multi-million dollar sports complex will be home to both the USA Water Ski Foundation and USA Water Ski- the only national governing body recognized by the United States Olympic Committee for all towed water sports in the United States. USA Water Ski consists of nine different sports disciplines (Water Ski, Wakeboard, Show Ski, Barefoot, Kneeboard, Hydrofoil, Racing, Collegiate and Adaptive). The USA Water Ski Foundation Headquarters houses the National Governing Body Offices of USA Water Ski, the Water Ski Museum & Archives, the Water Ski Hall of Fame, and the International Water Ski and Wakeboard Hall of Fame.
USA Water Ski Foundation Executive Director Tracy Mattes and City Manager Bobby Green made the announcement during a ceremony at the Foundation’s headquarters as part of the Auburndale City Commission “Commission Day” tour. Both parties agreed to cooperatively work together and believe that the move will help promote and grow the sport across multiple disciplines and provide visitors with a better understanding of why Central Florida is known around the globe as “The Water Ski Capital of the World.” The water sports complex will have a unique opportunity to showcase this heritage in a very unique and special way that combines elite sport, youth education and culture.
