USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Partners With CSGI to Fight CRE Superbug
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) March 28, 2015 -- An unexplainable CRE diagnosis at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital (USC VHH) this past week prompted a proactive response to protect their patients and staff. The hospital called upon Los Angeles based Clean Sweep Group, Inc. (CSGI) to kill lingering bacteria with high-powered ultraviolet lights (Featured on CBS LA, March 17th).
“We are doing what we call a terminal clean,” stated USC VHH infectious disease consultant, Dr. Elizabeth Maslow, on CBS’s “Lisa Sigell’s Health Watch” (Video found here: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/video/11244084-lisa-sigells-health-watch-march-17/).
The ICU and other critical points in the hospital were disinfected with a cutting edge device manufactured in the United States to kill superbugs like CRE, MRSA, and Clostridium difficile.
“These devices allow us to kill pathogens faster and more thoroughly than ever – without using chemicals. The efficacy and mobility of the technology has allowed our technicians to bring clinical level environmental disinfection to homes and daycares, while also rapidly responding to emergent situations like the CRE intervention” - Cody Haag, Vice President of Research and Development.
