ABOUT LITTLE SUN
Little Sun's (http://www.littlesun.com) solar solutions are for everyone: they benefit communities living off the electrical grid by working with local entrepreneurs, creating local jobs, and generating local profits. The Little Sun social business was officially launched by artist Olafur Eliasson in July 2012 at London’s Tate Modern to bring clean, affordable solar energy to the 1.1 billion people living without electricity. Since then, more than 500,000 Little Sun lamps have been distributed worldwide, with almost half going to off-grid areas. Purchasing Little Suns in areas of the world with electricity makes the products available in off-grid areas at reduced, locally affordable prices, where they provide a clean alternative to toxic and expensive fuel-based lighting and a steadfast and clean alternative to relying on the electrical grid.
Little Sun has a particular focus on bringing solar to school students everywhere in the world and have developed educational and outreach programs to put the power to read and learn in the hands of the students themselves. More info: http://www.littlesun.com/education.
About Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts
The nation’s preeminent not-for-profit day camp for the arts, Usdan (usdan.org) has been declared a “Best Of” camp by TimeOutNY/Kids, and by NY Metro Parents. Diverse and playfully rigorous from the start, for nearly fifty years we have brought world-class teachers and visiting artists – actors, directors, playwrights, painters, sculptors, musicians, composers, dancers, poets and novelists – to teach and collaborate with Usdan campers ages 4 to 18. Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts ignites each child’s artistic spirit in a fun, welcoming environment. We believe art making is brave making, friend making, freedom making and future making.
