UsenetReviewz Releases New List of NZB Search Indexing Sites – A Few New Faces, a Few Old Faces Missed
McLean, VA (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- UsernetReviewz, a premiere online review website for newsgroup servers, has recently released an updated list of search indexing sites for NZB-formatted content. NZB is a file format for retrieving posts from servers, specifically NNTPs or Network News Transfer Protocol servers.
The new list became necessary as a number of Usenet search index websites have shut down because of various reasons such as systematic regional blockades, loss of paying customers and dwindling financial capital. Even the persistent barrage of DMCA takedown requests, coupled with the lack of people to investigate each request, contributed to the closing down of major Usenet servers. NZBMatrixs, for example, said their reason for closing down is because of “the impossible task of policing our indexing bots.”
However, with the release of UsenetReviewz latest list, people who depend on network news distribution systems will have a reliable tool for their business and personal needs. The updated list features both old and new players in the Usenet community.
“It is sad that some of the websites have closed after serving the Usenet community for some time,” said UsenetReviewz founder Marion Marshall, “but I am sure that the people who built those sites are still out there, participating in news group discussions. UsenetReviewz.com has always kept a large list of all the NZB sites. Maintaining the list is no easy task, as editors have to keep up daily with new sites for weeks on end and with the alerts posted on the Usenet NZB sites. Adding to this task is monitoring the indexes that are still operating, which are intermittent, and those that have closed.
