USPTO Grants aioTV Key Patent for Merging Linear with OTT
Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 20, 2016 -- aioTV, a leading global provider of OTT curation and orchestration engines, announced today that it has been granted U.S. Patent No. 9,241,179 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This critical patent covers, among other things, the unification of traditional linear channels with OTT/Web channels, channel creation from multiple OTT sources, and authentication for one or more OTT sources.
“The unification of OTT with legacy multi-channel has become table stakes for MVPDs and CE manufactures as consumers spend more time connecting with online content”, said Mike Earle, aioTV CEO. “We saw where the market was headed over 5 years ago, and now with successful execution, we have the IP. Any CE manufacturer, MVPD, or application developer looking to unify multi-channel legacy video services with hyper curated OTT/web video will truly benefit from what we have developed and patented.”
aioTV enables MVPDs and CE companies to combine relevant, related, and personalized OTT content experiences with legacy VoD and linear broadcast TV in a common experience. aioTV now offers the curation and orchestration engines needed to make sense of the growing video offering landscape. aioTV also provides dedicated APIs allowing application developers to easily create new compelling client experiences that span OTT and linear content.
