UWWM Mediator to Speak for Major Orange County Bar Association Seminar
ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- Brandon Peters, mediation counsel for Upchurch Watson White & Max, will be a speaker at the upcoming "Advanced Legal Drafting: How to Get the 'Write' Result and Best Position Your Client to Be the Appellee," a major seminar jointly presented by the Appellate Practice and Professionalism Committees of the Orange County Bar Association.
Mr. Peters and Nick Shannin, an Orange County appellate attorney and mediator, will present: "Preparing for Mediation: Drafting a Mediation Statement with the Mediator and Opposing Party in Mind" from 2:10 to 2:40 p.m. during the Thursday, Feb. 19, seminar. "This segment will provide experienced advice on how to draft an effective pre-mediation case summary for the benefit of the mediator, clients and attorneys," organizers say.
The overall seminar will be from noon to 5 p.m. at the OCBA Center, 880 N. Orange Ave. "At this advanced seminar, you will learn effective legal drafting techniques to present your best case, from initial pleadings through final judgment and every significant step along the way," according to organizers. Topics include persuasive writing tips for drafting pleadings, dispositive and evidentiary motions, mediation summaries, orders and judgments. "You will acquire the skills necessary to position your client favorably, help the court reach the “write” decision, and ensure it is affirmed on appeal. An ethics segment will address how to be a zealous but professional advocate in written filings."

The registration fee, including lunch, is $35 for OCBA members and $50 for nonmembers.
