VA wow Female Condom, Indiegogo Crowdfunding On
Petoskey, MI (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- Design firm IXu announces its Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, "VA wow Female Condom" for obtaining FDA approval and also launch the VA wow® line worldwide, already approved in Europe.
"Due to the crowd reaction to our April news release where we made public for the first time the User Study results of our combination condom/sex toy, we felt crowdfunding was a good option to help achieve our final FDA regulatory goals," states IXu CEO Brian Osterberg.
By raising more high-profile media attention and funds, IXu hopes to obtain its ultimate goal of an immediate FDA approval for the VA®. The basic latex VA® model received the highest efficacy rating in a 2013 UAFC-sponsored clinical study published in the Lancet medical journal. The study compared all four current female condoms, including the FC2®, the only currently FDA approved female condom in the USA market.
Osterberg states, "By joining with new advocate groups immersed in FDA negotiation, we've learned that chances are good for changing FDA requirements. Our FDA approval could occur within 12-18 months, instead of the years we faced during R&D seven years ago. We will retain consultants to guide us through a possible fast-track process."
IXu is also interested in immediate social distribution primarily by governments and non-profits, as the VA wow had attained a 97% acceptability rating in another User Survey.
IXu has expanded its current manufacturing/marketing partnership with Indus Medicare Ltd. of Hyderabad, to include the VA wow Condom Feminine® product line. Indus Medicare is an established latex condom manufacturer presently manufacturing the IXu #1 rated male latex condom brand, inSpiral®.
IXu's April press release was picked up globally by the mainstream media who promptly turned the 50-Couple User Survey results into a hyperbolic news headline heralding the remarkable effectiveness of VA Vibe™.
The VA Vibe™ scored such high satisfaction ratings, some in the media declared it gave a: "100% Guaranteed Orgasm", though that claim was not made by IXu.
IXu also recently joined with the National Female Condom Coalition regarding its grass-roots multi-year effort to change the process for gaining FDA approval of new female condoms, including the VA wow®. This effort was noted to have a "good chance" to succeed within the next year.
